Several people have suggested that I keep a weblog about the progress of Connexions software and updates to this web-site. So here it is: the inaugural entry in my first blog (actually I'm backfilling, but anyway). So who am I? My name is Brent Hendricks, and I'm the System Architect for Connexions. But I'll post more about me later, let's get back to talking about the blog.

It's not much of a blog, really. More of just a folder of news items in reverse chronological order. In fact, that's how it's implemented: I made custom CMF portal_types Blog Folder and Blog Item based on Folder and News Item. Some customized page templates for viewing, set the view action and we're done. I love CMF type customizations :)

We'll enable more featurs in the coming weeks: RSS syndication, comments (once we do some QA on the CMFDiscussion stuff which needs work). Later we'll probably switch to something like SimpleBlog once we've migrated to Plone2.

So, this is the kind of stuff you can expect to read here. If you like somewhat geekly technical discussion, cool. Welcome! Otherwise, move along, there's nothing to see here. This is not the blog you're looking for.
