Collection Properties
Summary:
This collection includes modules to help graduate students develop an identity as a professional scholar: one who can ar: a person who can
(1) place particular issues in the context of past and current work,
(2) explain those issues’ importance and the methods that have been used to address them,
(3) summarize the findings of key research efforts, and (4) undertake research, individually or with others, on specific problems or questions that will advance the field’s knowledge and possibly benefit society or industry through particular applications. The collection links modules on reading as a professional scholar, reporting on scholarly work, and coaching undergraduates. The modules were prepared by members of the Cain Project in Engineering and Professional Communication at Rice University in Houston, Texas.
