'My Favorites' is a special kind of lens which you can use to bookmark modules and collections directly in Connexions. 'My Favorites' can only be seen by you, and collections saved in 'My Favorites' can remember the last module you were on. You need a Connexions account to use 'My Favorites'.

      Definition of a lens

      Lenses

A lens is a custom view of Connexions content. You can think of it as a fancy kind of list that will let you see Connexions through the eyes of organizations and people you trust.

      What is in a lens?

Lens makers point to Connexions materials (modules and collections), creating a guide that includes their own comments and descriptive tags about the content.

      Who can create a lens?

Any individual Connexions member, a community, or a respected organization.

Digital Transmission over Baseband Channels

Module by: Roy Ha, Mohammad Borran, Dinesh Rajan

Summary: (Blank Abstract)

Consider the problem of transmitting information over a channel that is bandlimited. Further consider the passband of the channel to be around zero. The channel is best modeled as

Figure 1
 ()

The received signal is given by

r t =- X τ gt-τdτ+ N t = Y t + N t r t τ X τ g t τ N t Y t N t (1)
As a consequence of the bandlimited nature of the channel, Y t Y t is no longer a time limited signal. As a result, each symbol period is larger than TT and the signal from one symbol period interferes with symbols in other time periods. This aliasing of signals is refered to as intersymbol interference (ISI).
