Digital Elevation Model --3-D View

Module by: John Janovec. E-mail the author

Summary: A 3d digital elevation model of the los amigos conservation area.

Figure 1: A three-dimensional view across the landscape, showing the Amiguillos River (3) and one of its tributaries (4). The vast floodplain of the Madre de Dios River (1) is a mosaic of forest and wetland that is driven by patterns of flooding, plus other abiotic factors. The light blue areas on the map, based on preliminary vegetation classification, appear to be large openings in the forest (upper left, below round three).

Definition of a lens

A lens is a custom view of the content in the repository. You can think of it as a fancy kind of list that will let you see content through the eyes of organizations and people you trust.

What is in a lens?

Lens makers point to materials (modules and collections), creating a guide that includes their own comments and descriptive tags about the content.

Who can create a lens?

Any individual member, a community, or a respected organization.

What are tags? tag icon

Tags are descriptors added by lens makers to help label content, attaching a vocabulary that is meaningful in the context of the lens.
