Introductory Activity for Electrical Instrumentation (Instructor Information)

Module by: Darryl Morrell. E-mail the author

Summary: This module provides some instructor information for the Introductory Activity for Electrical Instrumentation module.

Note:

This module provide instructor information for the Introductory Activity for Electrical Instrumentation module.

Activity Objectives

  • Students identify components of an instrumentation system.
  • Students describe the function of the instrumentation system components.
  • Students demonstrate a conceptual understanding of bandwidth and accuracy.

Instructor Information

Students work in teams. Each student team observes a data acquisition system that is set up to measure a physical quantity; for example, Figure 1 shows a data acquisition system that uses an IR distance finder to measure distance. The teams describe the components of the data acquisition system, as well as how these components are connected. They compare the components and connections to information in preliminary reading, and then answer questions about bandwidth and accuracy.

A lens is a custom view of the content in the repository. You can think of it as a fancy kind of list that will let you see content through the eyes of organizations and people you trust.

What is in a lens?

Lens makers point to materials (modules and collections), creating a guide that includes their own comments and descriptive tags about the content.

Who can create a lens?

Any individual member, a community, or a respected organization.

What are tags? tag icon

Tags are descriptors added by lens makers to help label content, attaching a vocabulary that is meaningful in the context of the lens.
