'My Favorites' is a special kind of lens which you can use to bookmark modules and collections directly in Connexions. 'My Favorites' can only be seen by you, and collections saved in 'My Favorites' can remember the last module you were on. You need a Connexions account to use 'My Favorites'.

      Definition of a lens

      Lenses

A lens is a custom view of Connexions content. You can think of it as a fancy kind of list that will let you see Connexions through the eyes of organizations and people you trust.

      What is in a lens?

Lens makers point to Connexions materials (modules and collections), creating a guide that includes their own comments and descriptive tags about the content.

      Who can create a lens?

Any individual Connexions member, a community, or a respected organization.

102. Traumatic asphyxia

This 19-year-old airman sustained a calculated 1400 pounds of pressure to his chest when a stationary jet trainer lost its parked attitude and pinned him to the ground. He was freed within 15 seconds. Observers at the scene noted that his eyes became prominent and that his neck and face turned bright red and then dark blue. Image 1, day 1, shows the bluish-black discoloration of his face and neck. Image 2, day 6, shows massive subconjunctival and sublingual hemorrhages, along with marked clearing of the facial discoloration. Image 3, day 9, shows the typically unaffected portions of the conjunctivae. The skin of the face is now normal. For more information on this condition, see Case 25.
