Summary: "TripleDisplay" is a LabVIEW front-panel indicator that integrates three standard signal processing displays: time-domain signal, spectrum analyzer, and spectrogram. Each display mode can be quickly selected using tabs, permitting easy comparison of spectral and time-domain representations of the same signal.

• Apply LabVIEW to Audio Signal Processing
• Get started with LabVIEW
• Obtain a fully-functional evaluation edition of LabVIEW

TripleDisplay is an invaluable tool for visualizing signals in LabVIEW. TripleDisplay is a front-panel indicator that you can use just like the built-in waveform indicator. However, TripleDisplay integrates three different display modes into the indicator (see Figure 1):

  • time-domain waveform
  • spectrum analyzer
  • spectrogram plot

Simply select the tab corresponding to the display mode you wish. You can easily identify relationships between the time-domain and frequency-domain representations of the signal with TripleDisplay.

TripleDisplay is part of a library of LabVIEW applications to accompany the textbook DSP First by McClellan, Schafer, and Yoder. Installation instructions are available at http://www.rose-hulman.edu/dspfirst. Once there, click "Getting Started" and scroll down to the LabVIEW section.

Definition of a lens

Lenses

A lens is a custom view of Connexions content. You can think of it as a fancy kind of list that will let you see Connexions through the eyes of organizations and people you trust.

What is in a lens?

Lens makers point to Connexions materials (modules and collections), creating a guide that includes their own comments and descriptive tags about the content.

Who can create a lens?

Any individual Connexions member, a community, or a respected organization.

What are tags? tag icon

Tags are descriptors added by lens makers to help label content, attaching a vocabulary that is meaningful in the context of the lens.
