<para id="id5457194">Our report will examine one highly touted alternative energy source: solar energy. Specifically, we will investigate how this technology could impact energy consumption and emissions produced at Rice University. We will research the costs of energy currently consumed at Rice and compare these costs to those associated with implementing a limited-scale array of solar panels. Our goal will be to evaluate the real impacts and economic viability of solar energy. </para>
