Using EBSCO to search the ANZ Reference Centre

Searching for magazine and newspaper articles in the EBSCO Host ANZ Reference Centre database.

Access the database from the Library page by clicking on the link

Type in the User ID and the Password (If you do not know them, ask library staff)

Then click on the Login button

Type your search topic

Select Full Text if you want to get the full article rather than just the headlines

Click on the Search button

The search will automatically give you the most recent items first.

Select Relevance in the Sort by box to put the most relevant items at the top of the list

You can narrow your search by clicking on the subjects listed on the left.

Lenses

A lens is a custom view of the content in the repository. You can think of it as a fancy kind of list that will let you see content through the eyes of organizations and people you trust.

What is in a lens?

Lens makers point to materials (modules and collections), creating a guide that includes their own comments and descriptive tags about the content.

Who can create a lens?

Any individual member, a community, or a respected organization.

Tags are descriptors added by lens makers to help label content, attaching a vocabulary that is meaningful in the context of the lens.
