Wonder Wall

Summary: Children in each classroom will brainstorm for a few minutes every day about things they wonder about. What are they curious about? What do they want to learn about? What kinds of questions do they ask? They will submit these and an artist will create a "Wonder Wall" in the school library.

Note:

We must raise young ones to question, to wonder and to learn. (Jamie McKenzie) We can stimulate students to seek information on their own. Information Questions can start with following: How? What? Where, When? Why? Which one? What if?" Should? With basic information so easy to access, shouldn't we now focus our students' attention on questions that will challenge them to use information meaningfully - to think, analyze, evaluate and invent?

Lenses

A lens is a custom view of the content in the repository. You can think of it as a fancy kind of list that will let you see content through the eyes of organizations and people you trust.

What is in a lens?

Lens makers point to materials (modules and collections), creating a guide that includes their own comments and descriptive tags about the content.

Who can create a lens?

Any individual member, a community, or a respected organization.

Tags are descriptors added by lens makers to help label content, attaching a vocabulary that is meaningful in the context of the lens.
