Versamel ‘n paar omhulsels of verpakkings van voedselsoorte. Bestudeer die gegewens daarop aangedui:

1. In watter eenheid word energie gemeet? _________________________________

2. Hoeveel van hierdie eenhede behoort jy daagliks in te neem? _________________

3. Probeer nou verduidelik waarom ‘n persoon wat op ‘n eetstaking is, nie gekies moet word om aan die marathon deel te neem nie.

2. Waar kom energie vandaan?

Ons kry omtrent al ons energie indirek van die son af. Die son straal hitte en lig uit en het nog genoeg kernkrag oor om vir die volgende 5 000 miljoen jaar te skyn.

Net soos die mens kos as bron van energie gebruik, gebruik ‘n bus of ‘n trein brandstof om passasiers van een plek na ‘n ander te vervoer.

Brandstof is ‘n stof waarin energie opgesluit lê.

Leeruitkomste 1:Die leerder is in staat om met selfvertroue op weetgierigheid oor natuurlike verskynsels te reageer, en om binne die konteks van wetenskap, tegnologie en die omgewing verbande te ondersoek en probleme op te los.
