Se Requiere Rigor en un Sistema Educativo Moribundo

Summary: En un esfuerzo respondiendo al "Llamado Educativo a las Armas", nuestras escuelas públicas a nivel nacional han recurrido a los cursos de nivel universitario (AP, por sus siglas en inglés /Advanced Placement/) como la estrategia favorita para minimizar la falta de rigor académico en nuestras escuelas preparatorias (High Schools). Muchos consideran que los cursos de nivel universitario (AP) ofrecen a los estudiantes preparatorianos el rigor y la ética de trabajo necesarios para participar y tener éxito en lograr la educación que los Estados Unidos requiere para regresar a la supremacía mundial, en economía, el estado de arte en tecnología, y en educación. Esta revisión bibliográfica, examinó investigaciones recientes sobre cursos universitarios (AP), y condiciones necesarias para graduarse de una universidad, y descubrió dos variables que constantemente aparecen en el análisis de fuentes múltiples. La falta de rigor académico dentro del sistema educativo nacional, y la brecha de aprendizaje (resultados de aprendizaje inferiores) entre las minorías y los estudiantes de bajo nivel socioeconómico resumen los ingredientes que faltan a nuestras escuelas públicas.
