Summary: Here we present a comparison of Spike-time Dependent Plasticity (STDP) and Calcium Dependent Plasticity (CaDP) in modeling spatial memory of a simplified place cell network in the hippocampus. This research was supported by Rice University's Department of Computational and Applied Mathematics as part of a Vertically Integration of Research and Education in the Mathematical Sciences (VIGRE) grant from the National Science Foundation. In VIGRE, teams of Postdocs, Faculty, Undergraduate and Graduate students collaborate in groups known as PFUGs to work on problems within a field of the mathematical sciences. This report is a compilation of research done as part of a PFUG on Hippocampal Spatial Memory.
