Quick Internet Fix

Module by: Jay Math. E-mail the author

Summary: Just a quick fix I found as to how to make my horrible apartment internet faster.

Easy Fix for Spotty Wi-fi

As a college student and a human within the last 20 years I use the internet but specifically I connect to my apartments Wi-Fi to get online. And as of lately this Wi-Fi has been less than satisfactory. So after finally having had it with my internet cutting out while I’m trying to listen to music I looked for ways to speed it up at least a little and I stumbled on OpenDNS. A lot of times web pages don’t load for us due to some problems with the DNS which is basically a screening process for the computer to verify that site I something it wants to connect to or simply if it can even find information on the site it wants to connect to. OpenDNS does that for you and by finding a faster, safer and more reliable way to connect thus making your web page load much faster while keeping you safe. The domain name is opendns.com respectively and I suggest you go on there right after you are done reading this. It’s extremely self-explanatory on the site but really what you do is you find what kind of router you have find out its IP address and type it in your address bar. You then put in your router password (most of the time if the router is new it is simple like admin) and

change the DNS to the numbers they give you. I told you it was easy. And if you do it through the router it affects everybody that connects to it so his or her WiFi will also be safe and secure!
