Using the <preformat> tag

Description

The preformat tag is used to insert a line or block of pre-formatted text into a document. This can be useful for situations where explicit line breaks or character alignment is necessary.

This CNXML:

display (optional):
Possible values:
- block - The pre-formatted text will be set apart from the surrounding text (default). If the display attribute is set to "block" or is absent, then an id is required.
- inline - The pre-formatted text will be included in the current line of text.
- none - The pre-formatted text will not be displayed.
id (optional for inline display preformat): A unique identifier, whose value must begin with a letter and contain only letters, numbers, hyphens, underscores, colons, and/or periods (no spaces).
