The ball and beam experiment represents a simple second order system. This system is easily simulated using four states, but is more difficult to implement in real-life because not all necessary variables are easily observed. This simulation assumes all four states are easily observed and the system is linear throught the operating region. The plant model and the controller of the system are simulated in LabVIEW using the LabVIEW Simulation Module.

Summary:
This course introduces students to fundamental control systems theory with emphasis on design and implementation. These labs focus on technical implementation issues of classical control theory in the frequency domain and modern control theory in the state-space. Design and implementation for this course is done using National Instruments LabVIEW ... the plants.

This course introduces students to fundamental control systems theory with emphasis on design and implementation. These labs focus on technical implementation issues of classical control theory in the frequency domain and modern control theory in the state-space. Design and implementation for this course is done using National Instruments LabVIEW software and hardware for control and Educational Control Products (ECP) hardware for the plants.
