Biography:

PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford in 1965.

Faculty member at Rice for 43 years.

visiting faculty member at Erlangen and MIT. Adjunct Prof. at Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU).

Have served as college master, department chair, dean of engineering, etc.

Have taught DSP for 35 years. Served on Board of Governors of the IEEE Signal Processing Society. Fellow of the IEEE and AAAS, member of ASEE, awarded the Kilby Medal. Published 4 books and over 200 papers. Involved in Connexions since its beginning in 1999.
